One topic dominates all our conversations and for the next few months coronavirus will affect every aspect of our daily lives.  

The recent government announcement on social distancing is a huge blow for businesses like ours. As they haven’t specifically prohibited visiting restaurants we are unable to claim on our insurance if we do close, and the financial picture for us is extremely difficult. However we very much hope that measures taken now will help to swiftly stop the virus in its tracks and get us all back to normal as soon as possible.

As Lisa Markwell of the Sunday Times has written

“Restaurants are suffering enormously during this difficult time and it would be heartbreaking if our neighbourhood favourites and special occasion treats went to the wall.”

We can only agree with that. Our most precious asset is our wonderful team and our priority is to do all we can to ensure the security of their jobs.
